FAQ
Can I Get Insurance?
Mercia Beauty Academy offers fully accredited beauty courses. Once completed you will be able to gain public liability insurance through ABT (associated beauty therapists).
Why Choose A Short Course And Not A Higher Level Course Such As NVQ?
The main advantage of choosing this route rather than enrolling on a course at NVQ level is it allows you to start working and earning the cheapest and fastest way with lots of theory input and practical demos.
Do I Really Learn All I Need To Know In One Day?
The simple answer is Yes! Mercia Beauty and Training Academy believes that as long as you complete all of the case studies and practice regularly you will have all the knowledge and practical skills needed to become a competent therapist. If we feel you may need a little more input you will be able to attend sessions to enhance your skills but ‘practice makes perfect’.
What Are The Class Sizes?
All of our classes have no more than 4 students at one time. This is so that the tutor can ensure students are given plenty of time, attention and the opportunity to ask any questions. We encourage students to ask questions and discuss any issues.
What Do I Need To Wear For A Mercia Beauty Academy Course?
Ideally salon attire should be worn for all courses this is good practice for when you are working as a therapist. However, if this is not possible ensure that your attire is smart but comfortable.
Do I Need To Buy A Starter Kit To Do The Training?
No, equipment and products are provided for you to train with on the day. Starter kits are available for our students to purchase at wholesale prices. For more information on kits available please contact Lisa at Mercia Beauty and Training Academy.
For some courses you are required to purchase a kit. This may be because you need to patch test yourself prior to the course, or because you will need the kit to complete case studies. Links to all kits are provided at the bottom of each course description.
Can I Cancel Or Transfer My Course?
Course payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. Failure to attend a confirmed course will result in the loss of all payments made for that course. In the event of a genuine reason for cancellation (proof of which may be required), a request for transfer will be considered. A minimum of two students is required to run a course. Mercia Beauty Academy will endeavor to give students at least 24 hours notice of any cancellation. Mercia Beauty and Training Academy is not responsible for any accommodation/travelling costs students may incur due to the cancellation of courses.
